Balance Transfers Beware!

I’ve had a lot of client calls me over the past few weeks reporting to me that their credit card companies are pressuring them to pay off their balances at a discount by doing a balance transfer from another credit card company. Does this strike anyone else as wrong?!?! The credit card company is worried that you will file bankruptcy and they will lose all the money you owe them. In an effort to get paid something even at a discount they are encouraging you to take on more debt with another credit card company to pay them off. This is an embarrassment and totally fraudulent.

While it is true that making balance transfer before bankruptcy can cause a trustee to examine your case.  If the balance transfer was done not to defraud creditors but with the intent to prevent you from bankruptcy then the balance transfers should not be a problem.  Either way it is important to speak with a bankruptcy lawyer in Tampa, Fl before making this type of decision.  Also, as a bankruptcy attorney in Tampa I often help clients settle their debts.  Please give me a call today so that I can help you: (813) 402-0903.
